CCTV and security
Cameras, recording, and alerts. Usually specified alongside intercom because they share cabling and often the same supplier.
Audio and video
Multi-room audio, a media room, or speakers built into ceilings rather than standing in corners. This is where the range is widest, because it stretches from a couple of zones to a full cinema.

Wired or wireless, honestly
This is the first real decision, and it is mostly decided for you by whether your walls are open.
Wired systems run cable to every switch, sensor, and control point. They are the most reliable, the fastest to respond, and the only sensible choice at villa scale where you are controlling dozens of circuits. They also cost the most, take the longest, and only make sense while the walls are open, so they belong to new builds and full renovations. If you are building or gutting, wire it.
Wireless systems fit into a finished home. Installation is measured in days rather than weeks, it costs substantially less, and you can take much of it with you when you move, which matters if you are renting. It does depend on your Wi-Fi being decent throughout the property, and across a large villa it will not match wired for response time or for the sheer number of things it can control at once.
For an apartment, wireless is very often simply the right answer rather than the budget answer, and any company that tells you otherwise before seeing the property is selling rather than advising. For a villa you are building or renovating, wired earns its cost. For a finished villa where the walls are staying shut, it is a genuine judgement call, and that is exactly the kind of thing worth working through on the call.
Alexa, Google, and Apple HomeKit
Most people arrive at this already owning a speaker, and the usual worry is that a professional system will make it useless. It will not. The systems installed in UAE homes, Control4 and KNX among them, connect to Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit, so voice sits on top of the system rather than replacing it.
Worth knowing: voice is a convenience layer, not the system itself. The lights, air conditioning, and curtains keep working from the wall switches and the app whether or not the speaker is plugged in and whether or not the internet is up. Mention which assistant your household already uses when you fill in the form, and the supplier will confirm compatibility rather than leave you to find out after installation.
